Dr. Landon Brough, a graduate of Mesquite High School in Gilbert, returned to the Valley, where he had grown up, after graduating from veterinary school in Washington state. He worked for other clinics for a while before pursuing his dream and opening Sonoran Sky Pet Hospital this past March. He wanted to provide compassionate, collaborative veterinary care.

Dr. Kim Collins is a true native to Arizona. She grew up exploring Arizona’s wilderness, hiking, camping and fishing with her mom, dad, brother and two dogs. She attended Northern Arizona University for her undergraduate degree and graduated from Washington State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012.

Dr. Sloekers has found her true passion in connecting with and serving pet owners of all backgrounds in her community. She believes that all pet owners should have access to affordable veterinary care, which, combined with her love of surgery, has led her to pursue a career in affordable spay/neuter.

Dr. Mark Carter is an Arizona native growing up in the Mesa area, and currently enjoys living in San Tan Valley with his wife (Tori) and daughters (Kansas and Addi). He has been an animal lover his entire life, with an interest in animals large and small.

Dr. Greg was raised in Colorado and graduated in 1984 from Colorado State University. He worked in Tempe for 4 years and then purchased Adobe Veterinary Clinic in 1988.

Dr. Kafer is a California native who graduated from veterinary school and moved to Arizona to complete an emergency-focused rotating internship. She fell in love with the desert heat and decided to make Arizona her permanent home. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Kafer worked as a Registered Veterinary Technician in various emergency hospitals while completing her education.

Dr. Deneen Hawley was born and raised in Nebraska where she attended the University of Nebraska and earned her bachelor's degree in education. After teaching middle school science for 3 years, she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of being a veterinarian. Dr. Dawn Senter was born and raised in Vienna, VA, a town about 20 minutes south of Washington, D.C. She knew from a very early age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She was always that kid that was bringing home the sick bird for her mother to fix.

Dr. Cohen grew up in the Valley of the Sun and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, hiking, gardening and singing.

Dr. Jay Johnson is the founder and owner of Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital, the Valley’s first animal hospital devoted exclusively to the care of exotic pets. As a boy growing up on the outskirts of Tucson, he was fascinated with exotic pets, especially reptiles. He kept a variety of these unique pets throughout his childhood including snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises, tarantulas, rabbits, a cockatoo, pigmy goats, as well as more traditional pets like dogs and horses.

Dr. Lanier grew up as an Air Force kid, mainly living along the East Coast. Her family settled in South Dakota after retiring from the armed forces. Dr. Lanier loved growing up with animals and knew from a young age she wanted to become a veterinarian.

Dr. BJ Guminski is a veterinarian who enjoys working with both dogs and cats. She graduated from Washington State University in 1995 and enjoys hiking, backpacking, and swimming in her free time.

I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona, but I left sunny Arizona for a cooler climate in Minnesota, where I received my Bachelor's degree and came back to my home state to attend Midwestern University and graduated with my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. I love working to improve the quality of life for our patients and helping to strengthen the human-animal bond. In my free time, I hang out with my two fur babies; a long-haired Chihuahua named Jimmy Chew, who enjoys nice morning walks and being a couch potato, and Momo; a rabbit who is slowly trying to win over my Chihuahua, but is mostly failing.

Dr. Jessica Schneider’s life has always been full of animals, from house pets to horses. Growing up in Idaho, Texas, and Illinois, she now enjoys the warm Arizona winters. Dr. Schneider graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho’s Animal Science Program before attending veterinary medical school at Washington State University, graduating with her DVM and a certificate in Global Animal Health.

Dr. Kelly Moffat was born in Phoenix and moved to livestock property in Gilbert when she was just 6 years old. She quickly accumulated a menagerie of pets, spending the majority of her time raising and showing dairy goats. After high school, she attended Arizona State University and a year at University of Arizona, and graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then attended Colorado State University, graduating with her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1993.
